Automatic Stretch Wrapping: A case of streamlined packing for improved profitability |

| The automation of any manual packing processes inevitably leads to a more efficient operation and improved profitability. Another successful illustration of this view became evident at a recent deployment done for Bengaluru-based manufacturer of plastic water tanks. Kaveri Plasto Containers Pvt Ltd is a manufacturer of Brand Kaveri plastic water tanks, overhead tanks and loft tanks that are used for domestic and commercial water storage. The company produces about 500 tanks in a day, and wraps them manually with stretch film rolls. Their existing packing process involves a huge consumption of film and high labour cost leading to low productivity and low operator morale. Based on an assessment of their process, Kaveri Plasto Container`s team approached Signode and ascertained a clear need for automation, and proposed deploying a stretch wrapping machine with top platen attachment. The team also facilitated a visit to the Signode factory, to see first-hand how the machine works. After deliberations, the machine was commissioned at the Bidadi plant of the company, and the benefits of the solution became apparent to the customer.
